Parent & Child classes are available daily for young children ages 18 months to 3 years. In these three hour classes, activities are provided that enhance each child’s growth in all areas of development (verbal, cognitive, gross motor & fine motor, and social/emotional). These classes are provided in English with some translation in Spanish. Sign language is also used in conjunction with verbal communication. Parents are empowered, as they become more aware of skills and techniques that will further their child’s development in and outside the program. On a daily basis, children are provided with:
- A comprehensive circle time helps promote language and self-esteem.
Learning centers that include stringing, sorting, washing, lacing, puzzles, painting, dramatic play and sensory play promote language and cognitive development. - Outside activities such as water and sensory tables, easel painting and parachute games are provided. In addition, the well-equipped yard provides opportunities to slide, jump, skip, ride tricycles, swing and slide and pretend play.
- At our Reseda location, during the summer, children and parents have the option of participating in a parent and child swim program that promotes pool safety, beginning floating and swimming techniques, and gross motor skills exercises, in the comfort of the facilities own warm, shallow depth swimming pool.
